Summer school holiday workshops 2011

What a fantastic way to start the year with creating a clay face wall hanging as the class was all girls they decided to make angel faces, carrying on the Christmas spirit, or the whimsical paper sculptures that were inspired by the bright coloured elements of summer, sand, sun, wind and flying kites. The children had a fantastic day playing with colour, painting an abstract landscape, they also had a lovely memento on canvas to take home when they painted a beach theme that brought the children’s holiday experiences to life.

I believe that creative expression in art is always inspired by the influences in our daily lives, summer holidays are full of outdoor activates for the children so Basia and I always talk to the children and ask about there interests modeling most of our workshop lesson plans on these discussions. – Julia.
