Painting of flowersMonday 22nd June, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 1, 2 and 3.

“Naïve style vase of flowers”, painting on canvas:
Our younger students were recently introduced to “Naïve Art”, style of painting and they loved the process. This design will give them scope for creativity and they will accomplish a fun and bright artwork to take home at the end of the day. – Basia.

Painting of Hearts.Wednesday 24th June 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 1, 2 and 3.

” Lots of love hearts “, painting on canvas:
We ask our students what they would love to paint and we model the painting experience around their suggestions. They have been asking for hearts for a very long time and this workshop also tackles really interesting background layering techniques, a really satisfying workshop with a little glitter for fun. – Basia.

framed printsFriday 26th June, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 1, 2 and 3.

“printmaking”, framed hand made prints.
This is a terrific introduction to printmaking. Julia will teach background techniques and  a “stamping” style of printing. The prints will then be framed creating a gorgeous art work to take home. – Julia.

” Merry Go Round”, mixed media on canvas:
Our younger students love mixed media and this lovely project will give them scope for interesting backgrounds, blending and stenciled shapes that they will learn to make themselves of the Merry Go Round painting, resulting in a great canvas. – Julia.

landscape painting Tuesday 30th June, 9 am- 3 pm, for children in years 4, 5 and 6.

Landscape”, mixed media on canvas:
A challenging artwork for our older group with an introduction to landscape painting using a combination of acrylic paints and pastels. There are layers applied and techniques demonstrated by Julia in the mediums to give the artwork depth and movement, resulting in a wonderful and unique landscape for everyone to take home. – Julia.

“Naïve style, village landscape”, painting on canvas:
A fun landscape for the younger children to paint, that introduces the placement of a building within a naïve landscape. Our young artists will look at the placement of the horizon, trees and flowers in order to complete a really beautiful art work.- Basia.

Flower prints Thursday 2nd July, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 4, 5 and 6.

 

” Vase of flowers”, monotype printmaking:
There is something immeasurably satisfying in the creation of monotypes. Our students love printmaking and monotypes allow for the enhancement of monoprints. Each student can expect to create 6 – 8 prints.- Basia

Sculpture of an EchidnaFriday 3rd July, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 1, 2 and 3.

 

“Echidna”, sculpture in clay:
An Echidna is a wonderful animal to use when first learning the skills of sculpture, students will make an armature for their sculpture and will learn how to create the  the texture of the Echidna’s spines, using special clay tools. The young artists adore the tactile experience of clay! – Julia.

Abstract micro organisms”, painting on canvas:
This lovely workshop, inspired by micro organisms will use a verity of painting techniques such as sponging, blending, glazing and stenciling, children will also observe the contrasting effects of using warm and cool colours, with wonderful results. – Julia.

Tuesday 7th July, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 4, 5 and 6.

Floating away with balloons”, self portrait on canvas:
Challenging the older students, I designed an artwork which incorporates landscape, a figure that will represent the artist and an enormous bunch of balloons. This artwork  has many layers and many new skills for the students to learn, the results will be a personalized painting for the students to take home. – Julia.

Painting of a dreamcatcher. Wendsday 8th July, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 1, 2, and 3.

“Dream catcher”, mixed media on canvas:
Our younger students will be challenged with this gorgeous workshop. They will choose their own colours and the background will involve new techniques .The mixed media butterflies will include drawing, painting and some delicate shimmering paints.- Basia.

Owl Sculpture

Thursday 9th July, 9 am – 3 pm, for children in years 4, 5, and 6.

“Barn Owl”, sculpture in clay:
My clay sculpture workshops give our students a very solid foundation in understanding how to create an animal form in clay. The common Australian Barn Owl is a gorgeous animal and the students will have the opportunity to develop many new  clay working skills, including sculpting new textures such as feathers and wood.- Julia.

“Australian landscape with stenciled animals” painting on canvas:
We love to include some specific Australian themes and this time we are going bush, with desert colours and a wonderful Boab tree. This is a skilled painting, taught step by step so the children can accomplish very pleasing results. – Julia.
